Experiment in colour

We have finished a selection of silk tops that will be available for spring.
They are hand painted and all one offs. We have kept the cut very simple, pretty much a classic box tee, and let the colour speak for itself.
Now let the sun shine so we can put them on the rack!

Printed strech dresses

These dresses are designed to wear on those days you don't wont to get out of your tracksuit but know you have too. They are made from a comfortable stretch knit that give a relaxed slouchy fit.
It is ruched in all the right places so it wont sit tightly around your middle.

Bowerbird Bazaar

Klei will taking part in the Bowerbird Bazaar.
It will be held at Queen's Theatre in Playhouse Lane, Adelaide
(off Light Square).

Magnolia Square will host Pia Jane Bijkerk in Melbourne as she celebrates the launch her new book, my heart wanders, at the Malvern Event on Saturday April 30th.

Now internationally acclaimed for her work and the author of two beautiful little books on the handmade secrets of Paris and Amsterdam, Pia reminds us that wonderful things can happen when one follows ones heart.

Pia Jane Bijkerk will create a space, expressing a little glimpse of her creativeness and talk candidly about her work, life on a houseboat and sign copies of her book.

Finders Keepers @ Docklands

We are gearing up for the Autumn/Winter 2011 Melbourne markets which will be held this weekend at a massive warehouse space in Docklands.

The markets brings together new emerging and contemporary independent artists and designers of original and high creative standards from both Melbourne and all around Australia. This market we will have an array of new designers & artists stalls as well as a fresh new music line up.

Orphfund

Orphfund are holding a 5th birthday charity auction to raise money for the ongoing support of some of the worlds most vulnerable children. All of the funds raised go directly to grassroots self sustaining projects that benefit whole communities.
There is a huge selection of items up for auction including a Klei necklace and earrings.

Micro pots

We are working on a selection of micro pots that are so small that they fit in the palm of your hand.
The tallest stands just under 7cm and they work well as specimen vases for the tiniest of buds from the garden.

New Fabrics

We have just finished our second run of Apron dresses.
The striped linen cotton, shown above, a lightweight black linen, and a drapey black silk crepe.
We only do small runs in each fabric so come and check them out at our upcoming events.

Magnolia Square in Paddington

Magnolia square moves to a new Sydney venue.
We will be taking part in their first Paddington fair at the Town hall from Friday the 25th to Sunday the 27th.

Handmade Canberra at the National Convention Center

We will taking part in the Handmade Market this Saturday the 19th.
Canberra's Quarterly Upmarket brings together talented artists, designers, stylists, craftspeople and gourmets all at one destination. It is a unique event to connect the makers of beautiful things to people who appreciate quality, handcrafted and locally designed items. It will be held, for the first time, at the National Convention Centre in the city.

We will be at the Handmade Market in Canberra This Saturday the 4th of December.
A few people could not find us last time but please don't give up this time round, we will be on the verandah with lots of new things to show.
Keep in mind the hours have been extended so you will have till 7 pm to enjoy the huge selection of goods on display.

Each ring has a different finish, black oxidised, matt satin and polished, they look great stacked together or by themselves.

A tiny porcelain ball set in silver tentacles.
This ring is our take on a prong setting and can be stacked in contrasting colours for an interesting effect.

Apron Dress

We made the Apron Dress in a few different fabrics but the most popular has been this black checked linen. Although very stylish, it does have a very "I must feed the chooks" kind of feel to it.
Another plus is that it looks great on most body shapes and can be worn by a Australian size 8 to 16.
