Finders Keepers @ Docklands

We are gearing up for the Autumn/Winter 2011 Melbourne markets which will be held this weekend at a massive warehouse space in Docklands.

Saturday 26th March from 10am - 5pm
Sunday 27th March from 10am - 5pm
Open Channel, Shed 4 Docklands - Victoria Harbour, North Wharf Road, Docklands

The markets brings together new emerging and contemporary independent artists and designers of original and high creative standards from both Melbourne and all around Australia. This market we will have an array of new designers & artists stalls as well as a fresh new music line up.

Orphfund

Orphfund are holding a 5th birthday charity auction to raise money for the ongoing support of some of the worlds most vulnerable children. All of the funds raised go directly to grassroots self sustaining projects that benefit whole communities.
There is a huge selection of items up for auction including a Klei necklace and earrings.

This event will be taking inspiration from the simple materials of paper and thread.

Micro pots

We are working on a selection of micro pots that are so small that they fit in the palm of your hand.
The tallest stands just under 7cm and they work well as specimen vases for the tiniest of buds from the garden.

New Fabrics

We have just finished our second run of Apron dresses.
The striped linen cotton, shown above, a lightweight black linen, and a drapey black silk crepe.
We only do small runs in each fabric so come and check them out at our upcoming events.

Magnolia Square in Paddington

Magnolia square moves to a new Sydney venue.
We will be taking part in their first Paddington fair at the Town hall from Friday the 25th to Sunday the 27th.

Handmade Canberra at the National Convention Center

We will taking part in the Handmade Market this Saturday the 19th.
Canberra's Quarterly Upmarket brings together talented artists, designers, stylists, craftspeople and gourmets all at one destination. It is a unique event to connect the makers of beautiful things to people who appreciate quality, handcrafted and locally designed items. It will be held, for the first time, at the National Convention Centre in the city.

Klei at Handmade in Canberra

We will be at the Handmade Market in Canberra This Saturday the 4th of December.
A few people could not find us last time but please don't give up this time round, we will be on the verandah with lots of new things to show.
Keep in mind the hours have been extended so you will have till 7 pm to enjoy the huge selection of goods on display.

We will be at Magnolia Square which is being held at the St Kilda town hall in Melbourne this week. Check out the look book to get an idea of what to expect.

We have made these new sterling silver stacking rings in all sizes.
Each ring has a different finish, black oxidised, matt satin and polished, they look great stacked together or by themselves.
They will be available at Magnolia Square in Adelaide at the Norwood Concert Hall.

Klei at The Undercurrent Design Market

The Undercurrent Design Market will be showcasing local and interstate designer/makers to create a unique and contemporary market. It will be located at the National Portrait Gallery, in the Terrace rooms.
There will be over 30 exhibitors Showcasing an array of original, fresh and contemporary design across all mediums and work practices - from Ceramics to Jewelry, Textiles to Design Co-op’s.

A tiny porcelain ball set in silver tentacles.
This ring is our take on a prong setting and can be stacked in contrasting colours for an interesting effect.

Apron Dress

We made the Apron Dress in a few different fabrics but the most popular has been this black checked linen. Although very stylish, it does have a very "I must feed the chooks" kind of feel to it.
Another plus is that it looks great on most body shapes and can be worn by a Australian size 8 to 16.

I like the way the positioning of the figurines appears to change their relationships and how they interact with each other.

Design:Made:Trade

Klei will be showcasing at Design:Made:Trade within the Craft Victoria booth.
Design:Made:Trade is a diverse and inspiring trade exhibition space of over sixty 3x3 metre cardboard booths, including some of Australia’s leading furniture, fashion and industrial design brands.

Design:Made:Trade returns for its third year and will be accompanied by a huge number of programs including workshops, talks, exhibitions and displays. This historic site comes alive with activity during the first week of the Festival so register to visit if you are part of the design industry or come along with family and friends on the public days.
